It's Important To Make Plans
Given the busy lives we live, many of us have planners, calendars, electronic devises, or other ways to keep track of our schedules and the things we have planned. In order to keep up, such planning becomes a necessity. Spiritually speaking, planning is also important as it has always been a part of faithful service to God. By planning, we can be more prepared to serve God in our lives while also ensuring our eternal home in heaven.
When Moses was leading the children of Israel through the wilderness, God came to the leader and instructed him about His plans for a "sanctuary" where sacrifices would be offered and the Priest would come before the Lord. God informs Moses that He will provide him with the plans and "pattern" for fashioning this "Tabernacle" which will be central to the Israelites' lives as they continue their trek to the promise land (Exodus 25:8-9). Throughout many of the subsequent chapters of this book, God provides Moses with the tabernacle plans. In the course of the many instructions, God doesn't leave anything out but rather provides a complete list of everything Moses would need.
Later in the Old Testament, Solomon was instructed to build the "permanent" tabernacle. The Jerusalem Temple was also something that God specifically requested and provided plans for. King David approached his son and stated, "Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong and do it" (I Chronicles 28:10). Throughout the next few verses, David (through the divine direction of God) provided his son with the necessary plans for building the magnificent structure.
With everything that was and is important to God, planning is a key part. The same is true for us today. As Christians, God has planned for each of us to live faithfully in His service while teaching the lost about Him. With every struggle, our loving Father provides us with the ability to overcome and conquer. In fact, God has always had it in His plans to assist those of us who strive to do His will. The best thing for us to do today is to make immediate and serious plans to serve Him. The Bible has provided us with the necessary plans to become a Christian while also providing us with the necessary directives in how we can remain ever faithful in that cause. It's our job to read the plans, follow them, and teach others about them.
